Registration for Steadfast will open
in late August!

Psalm 57:7

Scripture says:

My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast;
I will sing and give praise.

how does the dictionary
define steadfastness?

STEADFASTadjective [immovable, resolute, unswerving]

STEADFAST, CHRISTIAN WOMEN who deeply embrace Scripture are defined by unwavering faith and a lifestyle reflective of the Bible, rooted in both theological understanding and active, everyday obedience.

Paideia Northwest has set aside November 14th to encourage and exhort you to grow in the resolution to have a firm purpose, unwavering allegiance, and unswerving faith in Christ as Lord.

Themes & Topics

Isaiah 26:3
You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in You.

be resolute

How does the Lord give us His peace when we remain steadfast in our calling and convictions? How does this affect my determination to honor my husband, love my children, and keep my home for God’s glory? How can I balance that with housework, homeschooling, and discipleship?

be immovable

We have a plethora of resources and voices constantly shouting at us, particularly thanks to the sound bite culture of social media, but we have a responsibility to be wise, discerning, prudent women. How do we abide in the hope of the gospel without shifting and being swayed?

Colossians 1:23
…Continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven

James 1:12
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love Him.

have a biblical backbone

What does it look like to have a biblical backbone in our biblically illiterate culture? How do we remain steadfast under trial as wives, mothers, and women who claim Christ as Lord?

imitate your Heavenly Father

How do we imitate the steadfast love of the Lord in our home-centered roles? What does it look like to remain steadfast when emotions and hormones and all kinds of other excuses bubble to the surface? Where do we find new mercies to reignite our resolve?

Lamentations 3:22-23
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning…

Register Early… right here!

We are delighted that Spokane Valley Nazarene Church is welcoming us back this year – what a truly hospitable atmosphere and group of people! The Lord is so kind. We sold out every seat last year though, so make sure you don’t hit snooze on registration this year if you want to join us for Paideia Northwest again. If you have any inkling of desire to attend this year’s Paideia Northwest conference, please register early. $49 Early Bird Registration will open the last week of August, and then $69 registration will run through September 30, while tickets last! Please do read our Policies here. If you have registered for Steadfast, you will receive the link to download the recordings for personal use afterward, whether you showed up to the event or not, so you can have lifetime access to this encouragement if you have registered (so even if you just want the recordings, please register as an Early Bird). For those who do attend in person, we are curating a small vendor area to bless and uplift you… and a slew of giveaways that are always a lot of fun! Last year’s new catering was so well-received, we’re doing the same thing! Silver Spoon Catering will once again bring us a simple, delicious salad bar/rice bowl luncheon (no more worrying about GF or DF options, just make your own meal!). Plus there is absolutely nothing like face to face fellowship – it is a foundational principle behind the Paideia Northwest vision.

meet the speakers

Abbie Halberstadt

Abbie is a happy wife, homeschooling mama to ten rad kids, bestselling author, blogger, fitness instructor, and reigning family Nertz champion. But most importantly, she’s a Bible-believing Christian who desires to know God and make Him known. She lives by the motto “hard is not the same thing as bad” and loves encouraging women to dig deep in the everyday trials of motherhood for the treasures of joy and growth that are there in abundance if we’re only willing to look. She, her husband Shaun, and their double handful of children live in the Piney Woods of East Texas. You can find her hosting the M is for Mama podcast, and check out her trio of books: M is for Mama, Hard Is Not the Same Thing as Bad, and You Bet Your Stretchmarks.

Mystie winckler

Mystie and her husband Matt are both second-generation homeschoolers, living in Idaho, with three launched homeschool graduates, including two at New St. Andrews College, and two still being educated at home. Mystie is now also Grandma to 2! Mystie is a cohost of Scholé Sisters, a podcast for classical homeschooling mamas who want to read, think, and apply for themselves. She also has a website and podcast, Simply Convivial, where she helps moms beat overwhelm & perfectionism through simple baby steps so they can love being homemakers. Her published books include The Convivial Homeschool, Simplified Organization, and Home is for Hospitality – all available through Amazon.com.

Rachel Jankovic

Rachel Jankovic is a wife, homemaker, and mother. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts & Culture from New Saint Andrews College, but mostly reads cookbooks now to avoid story grip (being highly susceptible). In 2003, she married her husband Luke, and they have eight children. Rachel loves color, fabric, yarn to knit with, kids to laugh with, and laundry (not so much). You can find Rachel on the What Have You podcast, and can glean a variety of wisdom from her books: Loving the Little Years, Fit to Burst, You Who?, and No Time to Be Dumb.

missy Andrews

Missy Andrews is co-director of the Center for Literary Education and a mother of 6 homeschool graduates. She is the author of Teaching the Classics: a Socratic Method for Literary Education, Wild Bells: a Literary Advent, and My Divine Comedy: A Mother’s Homeschooling Journey. Missy earned her BA in English from Hillsdale College and her MA in imaginative literature from Harrison Middleton University.

location & lodging

Paideia Northwest is committed to hosting this annual conference somewhere along the I-90 corridor between Spokane and Coeur d’Alene. This year, we are grateful to The Spokane Valley Church of the Nazarene for allowing us the use of their building. May God bless their ministry!
15515 E 20th Ave, Spokane Valley, WA 99037

We will have a hotel block at Holiday Inn Express at 9220 Mission Ave in Spokane Valley, so stay tuned for that link. Please call the Holiday Inn Express on Mission Ave if you have questions or need to make a reservation after the block closes.

this year’s extra swag

If you order Steadfast swag at the time of your registration, it will be available to pick up when you check in at the conference on November 14th. (If something unforeseen comes up to keep you from attending the event in person, I will be happy to mail it to you after the conference. Just send me an email with your mailing address!)

We will have tees, notebooks, & tumblers with this year’s graphic incorporated into the design. We will have some extra swag available for purchase at the conference (as well as for giveaways!), but sizes and quantities are limited, therefore always a surprise. 🙂 When you purchase swag, the funds go directly toward conference needs to offset the fact that I try to keep registration costs low – and for 2026, these funds allow me to sponsor free tickets to mamas in need. Thank you for helping to support Paideia Northwest so we can continue bringing an annual conference to our region to encourage so many mamas raising their kids for Jesus Christ!

1 Corinthians 15:58
Therefore, my beloved brethren,

be steadfast, immovable,
always abounding in the work of the Lord,
knowing that your labor is not in vain.
